The Nanaimo Track and Field Club earned seven medals at the B.C. Athletics Cross-Country Championships at Clearbrook Park in Abbotsford on Saturday.
Jaydon Watson led the way for the club, securing the 9-year-old boy's provincial title, Madison Heisterman (13-yearold girls) and Sean Miller (16-17-year-old boys) came back with silver medals.
Joel Deschiffart finished third in the junior men's race, which qualifies him for Team B.C. at the National Junior Cross-Country Championships at Jericho Park in Vancouver on Nov. 30.
Meanwhile, Keaton Heiseterman (11-year-old boys), Karly Dickensen (11-year-old girls) and Nate Seaman (12-year-old boys) also earned bronze in Abbotsford.
Nanaimo's Erin Burrett finished fourth in the women's event, qualifying her for Team B.C. at the senior nationals also at Jericho Beach on Nov. 30.
The club had several other athletes run and finish well.
In the 10-year-old division, Jake Seaman finished eighth and Ryan Seaman 11th in the boy's race and Madison Paugh 24th in the girl's race.
Kaitlyn Watson finished 11th in the 12-year-old girl's division, while Hope Stewart was 11th in the 13-year-old girl's race.
In the 15-year-old division, Amy Morris was fourth in the girl's race, while Josh Bailey was sixth and Carter Higgins eighth in the boy's race.
