It rained power-play goals in Victoria on Friday night.
The Nanaimo Clippers (4-6-0-0) fell to the Victoria Grizzlies (5-5-1-0) by a score of 4-2 in B.C. Hockey League play at Bear Mountain Arena in Victoria on Friday night.
Five of the six tallies were scored on the man advantage.
Scoring for the Clippers were Bo Brauer and Sheldon Rempal, who tied the game at 2-2 on a powerplay goal in the third period, assisted by Korey Morgan. The game-winning goal was scored by Gerry Fitzgerald, who managed to click twice on the powerplay in the space of 45 seconds just before the halfway mark of the third. He also had an assist.
Colton Dahlen and Brendan Taylor also had assists for the Clippers.
Brandon Egil opened the scoring for Victoria at the five-minute mark in the first period, on a feed from Myles Fitzgerald.
The lone even-strength goal came from Mitch Crisanti, who put the Grizzlies up 2-0 in the second period before Brauer ended the shutout bid.
Nanaimo hosts the Cowichan Valley Capitals tonight at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena. The Clippers have lost four straight.
