The Nanaimo Clippers (4-4-0-0) fell to the Cowichan Valley Capitals (5-4-0-1) by a score of 3-1 in B.C. Hockey League play at Frank Crane Arena on Friday night.
Scoring for the Clippers was Brendan Taylor, who fired a shot past winning goaltender Robin Gusse with 30 seconds to spare in the second period to make it 2-1. Nanaimo's Jayson Argue took the loss and made 29 saves.
Scoring for the Capitals were Steen Cooper, Daniel Wanner and Colton Kehler.
The Clippers' Sheldon Rempal and Devin Brosseau assisted on the Taylor goal.
The Clippers are at home again today for a 7 p.m. match against the Interior Division-leading West Kelowna Warriors (6-2-0-1).
