RED DEER, Alta. - The founder of High Speed Rail Canada says he's frustrated with the lack of progress to establish high-speed rail passenger service between Calgary and Edmonton.
Paul Langan says they are no further ahead than they were in the 1980s.
He says two big studies have been done and some politicians "kind of want it" but so far the political will isn't there to move forward.
Alberta Transportation Minister Ric McIvor says there are many things to consider, including potential corridors and any land disruption issues.
He says no decisions will be made without public consultations and he doesn't know when they will be ready to begin that.
