I have found the ultimate Lantzville Halloween lover for the over-40 crowd.
Kelli Etheridge is a huge fan of October 31. She plans the whole year around the day. She says that Halloween encourages people to become someone else for the day. It's great for the imagination. Etheridge says, "It's a great community-builder, going door to door asking for candy is the perfect way to get to know your neighbours. I like the spooky side of Halloween as well; it can be fun to be a little bit scared. I'm 40 and I'm still scared of the dark."
Every year she has a party and for the last five years she has been doing her annual Halloween photo fundraiser. Etheridge is a professional photographer and she is so happy to celebrate her favourite time of year with this unique, fun and spooky fundraiser.
This year, the money she raises from the photos will be going to the Lantzville Volunteer Fire Department. She is keeping it local.
The Halloween charity photo event happens on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. This is a chance for moms, dads and kids to get dressed up, get a photo as a fun
keepsake and help raise money for the our hard working Lantzville Volunteer Fire Department. They do a lot within the community, including Halloween fireworks, Christmas hampers, safety demonstrations, etc. and this is how Kelli can show some support for them.
There is no appointment necessary. Come by the haunted-house themed photo studio at 7220 Royal Dr. in Lantzville.
Ghosts, princesses, vampires and the like will have the option of choosing an aged sepia print or a full colour print. With a donation receive one free 5x7.
Donations can be made by cash or cheque (made out to Lantzville Fire Rescue). There is also a chance to win prizes by entering the costume contest. Come by and have some fun.
