MONTREAL - Thirty Montreal restaurants will compete Sept. 1-7 in a food festival to see which one makes the city's best burger, says Tourism Montreal.
It's a reprise of the inaugural Burger Week staged in 2012. The difference this year: cheese. With that added ingredient, the event has been dubbed Burger Week With Fromage.
Pulled pork, kimchi, yogurt sauce, fried pickles and homemade Coca-Cola mayo could also make an appearance, if last year's entries are any indication.
Chefs' creations will be judged by diners via smartphone app.
A complimentary glass of red wine will be paired with some meals, "heightening the overall burger experience," says Tourism Montreal.
