Crimson Coast's InFrinGinG Dance Festival is continuing it's summer cultural journey, this time with the Fringetastic Theatre Festival.
The two organizations, Crimson Coast Dance Society and Fringetastic Theatre Festival, are partnering to keep dance alive and infringing this summer with works that highlight a contemporary view on cultural dance.
On Saturday, Aug. 24, they will present local artist Genevieve Johnson as she shares her depth of understanding of the Japanese contemporary dance form, Butoh, in her ever-evolving work Still Snowing at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre at 9 p.m.
"In my work, the strangeness generated by the scenic body lies in the development of landscapes under the skin that make the body present to itself in another way than in the daily, theatrical or formal realities," Johnson said.
Tickets for Still Snowing are $12 each and available at the door.
