DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. - CVTech Group Inc. (TSX:CVT) has been awarded several contracts worth a total of $45.8 million, including one to build a 33-kilometre electricity transmission line for Hydro-Quebec.
The $20.6-million contract from Hydro-Quebec calls for CVTech's Thirau subsidiary to build a transmission line between two substations in the Monteregie region. Construction work is to begin at the end of October.
The provincially owned power company also awarded a $500,000 contract for Thirau to install poles in the North Shore region.
In addition, CVTech's Ontario-based subsidiary Riggs Distler Inc. was awarded a $7.2 million contract to upgrade an unidentified customer's electricity distribution network in Toronto.
Its U.S.-based subsidiary Riggs Distler & Company, Inc. also won two contracts worth a total of C$17.5 million.
The larger of the U.S. awards was a multi-year contract worth US$12 million to operate and maintain a 40 megawatt solar panel array in New Jersey.
