Nanaimo realtor Jim Stewart turned another year older Oct. 12... Nanaimo's Haven Society celebrated its 35th anniversary on Oct. 18 with a celebration at the Port Theatre... We inaccurately identified Nob Hill's cheerful, hard-working and ever optimistic paper-girl in our original report, whose name was misidentified in social media. In fact, it's Signey Gauer whom southenders know for her everpresent smile. Gauer is in palliative care at NRGH. Neighbours know her as a tireless signature collector for numerous petitions, from protecting the Great Bear Rainforest through making the electoral system more democratic. Gauer is also a great proponent of the South End and enjoys sharing her unique perspective on things.
