Victoria-based Slegg Lumber, which has a location in Nanaimo, has branched into real estate by taking over a number of Coldwell Banker offices on Vancouver Island.
Slegg Lumber is a family-owned building supply company serving Vancouver Island with 10 locations, while Coldwell Banker is a leader in the Canadian real estate industry with locations across the country.
Slegg Lumber recently bought out Coldwell Banker's offices in Nanaimo, Parksville, Courtenay and Victoria and began a new company called Coldwell Banker Slegg Realty.
Mark Clark, the managing broker for Coldwell Banker Slegg Realty in the Nanaimo and Parksville offices, said combining the two operations on the Island was a "natural fit."
"It just makes sense and has huge advantages for our customers," Clark said.
