Vehicle owners are being warned to watch out for a culprit who has been shooting out dozens of car windows.
Nanaimo RCMP Const. Gary O'Brien said there have been about 35 incidents in the city since August.
"We've had several dozen car windows shot out with either a pellet gun or a high powered BB gun," he said.
"It's damaged many cars in Nanaimo."
O'Brien said many of the shootings have been happening on Maureen Way - a residential street off of Mostar Road - which is why a Crime Stoppers reenactment is planned for Wednesday afternoon.
He wants to warn people in the area not to be alarmed if they see a person with a gun on the street.
"Because of the fact that it involves a firearm, I don't want anyone to get on edge," O'Brien said.
"No shots will be fired but there will be a firearm present."
O'Brien said the re-enactment will use actors and a car. It is being filmed by TV crews in hopes of raising awareness about the window shootings.
The re-enactment will start at 12:30 p.m. and run until about 2 p.m.
